| Shortly
after "Electric Landlady", the last Windbreakers record, I
pretty much quit the indie record biz. This coincided with the demise of
the Windbreakers, and my new gig, parenthood. After a decade of making
records with Tim Lee, Mitch Easter and others, the sheen had rubbed
off...... I released a cassette of low-fi home demos called "Griffin
Bay" but that hardly counted, since it sold maybe 12 copies. I did
continue to write the occasional tune and I upgraded my home recording
set-up several times. This collection was recorded over a fairly long
period of time. The two songs recorded at Mitch's old studio, the Drive-In,(1&11) are the oldest, being recorded in the early '90's...The other three recorded with Mitch at Fidelitorium were recorded in September 1998...The rest of the songs recorded at home were done sometime between those sessions with Mitch, except 'Bitter Fruit' which was recorded in February 1999.
