( updated 22. January 2007 )

welcome to the sandman series...... a giant sand cdr tree.

organisation
we tried to organize the tree geographically (although some of the american ones might not look that way!) but it has depended on the location of branches and the number of copies each is prepared to burn. Because of the huge number of members the organising is not that easy and the the main organisational chart is updated unfrequently - click here and check to find out who is your organiser and whose branch you belong to, or click on the area you live in.

rules
for those of you who aren’t sure how a cdr tree works, here’s a basic idea how this one does. when there’s a new sandman series cdr ready for release, i’ll inform all the members, through notices on this site and e-mail, and then send a copy to all the organisers, who will in turn contact their branches and distribute copies out to them, who will then inform their leaves. at all times through this procedure there will be a trade of two blank cdr’s for one recorded, or a one for one trade of recorded material – at no time should any money change hands (unless, because of postage difficulties, it’s just for the cost of the blank cdr’s). everyone has to pay postage so this should cancel itself out. if you need to make it cheaper, then, if agreeable between the two parties,  don't mail the jewel box.

organiser:- if you volunteer to be an organiser, please be prepared to copy cdr's EXACTLY (no gaps between tracks) as sent to you by me, using compatible software and/or audio equipment that is compatible to all forms of audio equipment, making sure to use a top grade make of blank cdr. also be prepared to be first level support for any problems that might occur on your branches and to try to keep a track of them, if possible.

branch:- if you join as a branch, please make sure that you are able to copy cdr's EXACTLY (no gaps between tracks) as you receive them from your organiser, using compatible software and/or audio equipment that is compatible to all forms of audio equipment, making sure to use a top grade make of blank cdr. please try to keep in touch with your leaves, and to contact new leaves when added to your branch. also be prompt in your trade with both organisers and leaves.

leaves:- if you join as a leaf, please contact your branch as soon as possible after receiving their e-mail address. also be prompt in your trade with your branch, and try to trade good quality blank cdr's at all times.

whether organiser, branch or leaf, please keep me informed of any changes in e-mail, address or circumstances. also, if you encounter any problems along the way or you're not happy about something on the tree, please inform me.

new members
i'll be doing updates each sunday, and any new members will be mailed with the details of their branch or leaf, and the corresponding organiser or branch will be mailed with the new members' details. use the form below to join.

the first in the series, "acres of weird", came out some time ago, and so we thought it time that we rekindled the spark - and to that end  "juxtaposition " - was produced and released in october 2000.  "make it sound like hendrix", a double cd, came out at the end of 2000. with " the atlantic session" being released in june 2001. 'greetings from tucson' came out in november 2001, 'pedalless' in march 2002, 'sonisk postkort' in may 2003, the " fan-dango" in january 2004
...and after re-organizing the trees in 2006 the 'live at the muffathalle' marks the new start of the sandman series
