PERSONNEL
OK now you have it, what are you going to do with it...? First off, John
and I have toured the States and Europe as just that, John and me. So this record was
gonna be that as well... so Dusty sez listen.... Michael and I have almost bought
the 4 Room Motel in Rimrock .....where? Rimrock... just this side of the middle of
nowhere... up the road from Pappy and Harriet's..... so time comes and we all haul an 8
track and some wires to Rimrock. we set things up in a small red barn (the one that's on
the cover) and sweat it out there for 3 days. No cooler. No problem. It's July and we
rant... only it's too hot for headphones. So most of this stuff was done without wearing
that balance.... which is better.... but a lot of it didn't haul vocals. There were a lot
of 2 minute snippets we would make up on the spot.... with no vocals, y'see.... So later
while we were sorting out the whole mess in L.A. (in the studio) I would wander in behind
the mic and spew a bit. But we don't remember how to play these things now. So next we'll
hire a band to learn these songs. Besides that, I've been craving backing girl singers for
some time now. But there never seems to be time to give some girls a tape and teach them
the words. There's never a tape to give until it's already done.... and since I don't even
know the words yet, what's the point. So sometimes I pretend I'm them, it's faster that
way. Well... I just wanted to talk to you a little bit. We get letters and I don't get to
answer to them. Hope you like the rant. I don't know if it's better than "The Love
Songs".... but it's a great 9th album. sick, huh?
