| This piece of vinyl is our
second record. It was recorded on a hot pollution alert day during July in Louisville,
Kentucky, and was made at a place called Artist Recording Service. We recorded 15 songs
between 11:00pm and 5:00 am, half of the time spent trying to fix the wild buzz coming out
of Rick's amp. We finally gave up and decided to make amp buzz the theme of the record.
The session was engineered by Mike Franklin and co-engineered by Wink O'Bannon, who in the
past has guided and mystified us. The band produced the record with Wink, pushing guitar
levels up way into the red. What you hear is pretty much live except vocals and some extra
Baird guitar on Watching The Candles Burn. Doug had to dub a bass note. We argued about
putting lyrics on this insert but decided against it. Rick tends to change other peoples
words due to memory lapses; if you want to see what the real words are as written, drop us
a line.. Raoul still played Strohs but it was long distance this time. Frank Loose did the
layout and helped us with the design and a lot of other things we don't have a clue about.
Catherine Trippy Irwin titled the album and Janet came up with the photo concept. We had
to lug Janet's living room out to Michael freeman's sprawling estate, and it was freezing
cold. Bob Hanson bravely took the photo's. Thanks for the extra socks and coffee Michael.
