In the spring of 1992, Vic was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. It conjured up question after question. How is it that someone who makes their living singing and playing guitar should be struck with a disease that goes straight for the tool's of one's trade? What kind of nightmare is it that she had no insurance? isn't it ridiculous that these artists even had to make this record? But isn't it really cool that they did?

It is doubtful that the artists presented here and others like them even bothered to ask these kind of questions. The only thing they really needed to know was that their friend and peer was in need. we have been constantly amazed by their empathy, willingness and enthusiasm and SWEET RELIEF is truly a product of their interpretation, respect and imagination.

Some are old friends, some are new friends, some are fans. It is the language of music that sews them together and makes them part of a greater community. Music, by it's nature, is an intangible but humane entity. as demonstrated here, it can also provide the sweetest relief in a realm that is very tangible and real.
